A leased line, also known as a dedicated line, connects two locations for private voice and/or data telecommunication service. A leased line is not a dedicated cable; it is a reserved circuit between two points. The leased line is always active and available for a fixed monthly fee

A leased line is a private high-performance circuit. It usually carries voice and data or both. Leased lines are mostly used for either internet access or used privately between two customer sites Point-to-Point (P2P). Unlike some broadband, a leased line is not contended or shared and delivers dedicated guaranteed bandwidth straight to the internet backbone. A leased line provides guaranteed bandwidth, high availability and is the most reliable connectivity option.

Point-to-point leased lines (P2P):

A P2P leased line is usually provided between two customer sites for the customer to share internal data and/or voice services. This is usually delivered by an Ethernet leased line without routers as the Ethernet plugs into the customer's switch and LAN.

Leased lines are used to build up private networks, private telephone networks (by interconnecting PBXs) or access the internet or a partner network (extranet).

واصبحت متاحة مع دخول Fast ethernet)FE )و كذلك (Giga Ethernet(GE

:مثلا بالنسبه لل  GE السعه الكليه له 1G
وهي تساوي 7stm1
وللعميل له حرية الاختيار يريد حجز دائرة
Payload from 1stm1 up to 7stm1

وبالنسبه الي سرعات GE هي مضاعفات STM1 حتي سبع اضعاف

اما ما يخص FE
FE payload

From 2M to 100M

و سرعات FE هي مضاعفات 2M حتي 50ضعف

مثلا
يطلب العميل تأجير دائرة FE سرعه 12M
وممكن عميل اخر يطلب تأجير دائرة GE بسرعة 3VC4
مثلا
وهكذا
ملحوظه ....
كلمة عميل تعود علي الشركات مثل شركات المحمول وisp
والبنوك وهكذا
