التخامد_بالفايبر

#التخامد_بالفايبر
As it is known that we have two main wavelengths that are used for optical communication.
1310 and 1550 rage. Now the main advantage of 1310 nm is absence of dispersion at that rage for Sio2 fibers of single mode. This is a great advantage for huge date transmission (100Gbs) since we can send these data rates with no problems or an impact within 20 Km.
The another wavelength is 1550 which is used for low attenuation value 0.2 db/km. This attenuation is mainly caused by scattering since the Sio2 has almost zero absorption.
This is a huge advantage when long distance transmission.
As the single propagates inside the fiber, it losses part of it is power/intensity due to attenuation. To solve this problem we use the amplifiers.

Optical Amplifier
#Types of Optical Amplifier
The main types of amplifiers are

1.EDFA(Earth Doped Fiber Amplifier)

2.Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers (SOA)

3.Raman Amplifier.

4.Fiber optical parametric amplifier (FOPA)

Rare Earth Doped Fiber Amplifiers are of two types
1. EDFA (Erbium Doped) and
2.PDFA (Praseodymium Doped).

EDFA works in 1500-1600nm band.

PDFA works in 1300nm band. SOA works in 400-2000nm band.
